You will need to use a valid debit or credit card to register for online bidding.
Your card WILL NOT be charged upon registration, but it will be authorized to be sure it is valid. Some mobile banking apps will send you a notification that looks like a charge. DON'T PANIC! We ARE NOT charging you to register as an online bidder - just making sure you are a real person with a working card. This is an unfortunate necessity in this day and time. That preauthorization will NEVER COMPLETE and will fall off like it was never there. It IS NOT a charge! We remove the authorization immediately on our end at the completion of the sale. When it officially falls off on your end is entirely dependent on your bank. (Much like when you rent a car!) You do NOT have to use the card you register with for final payment, and are welcome to pay by cash at pick up!
Once you have the winning bid you will receive an email!!! Dixie Horse Auction will contact you by the end of the sale to process your payment! There is a 10% buyers premium and 6.75% NC sales tax for all online purchases! NC Sales tax will be waived with a properly completed exemption form. Please let the office staff know that you are tax exempt at time of payment and have the proper form filled out to give them; via email or in hand at pick up. When the office calls you for payment, please let them know when you are planning on picking up or having your shipper to pick up.
WARNING: Under the North Carolina General Statues Chapter 99 E-2, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting exclusively from the inherent risks of equine activities.
SALE TERMS: All sales considered As-Is unless explicitly announced as sound from the auction block at time of sale.
Horses announced as sound will:
- have no ocular impairments or blemishes
- not be a ridgling or cryptorchid
- hit the ground without a limp on all four limbs
- not be wind-broken
- not crib or weave
- be void of major undisclosed physical blemish or injury when sold
Participants in the auction come from a variety of equine disciplines and backgrounds. Terminology used and level of training can be subjective given this diversity. As such it is the responsibility of buyers to determine the fitness of a given horse for their purpose before bidding.
Should a dispute arise between buyer and seller, Dixie Horse Auction will mediate if notified of said dispute by December 3 at 12:00 PM. The auction company reserves exclusive right to determine whether horses pass as sound per above stipulations. Many sellers will offer warranties extending beyond this time frame. While a good indication of quality, such extended warranties are strictly between buyer and seller.
PAYMENT AND SHIPPING: Credit Card, Cash, Money Order, Cashier’s Check, Personal check (with photo ID).
Settlement to be made in full before release from auction grounds. 3 percent service charge waived for cash or good check. All accounts to be settled in full and horses removed from grounds by 12:00 pm November 30. Contact Dixie Horse Auction or Prime Choice Auctions for assistance with shipping arrangements.
CATALOG: Catalog information is provided by the consignor. Auction company not responsible for errors or omissions. Announcements made at time of sale take precedence over any printed or previously distributed material.
HEALTH: All horses will have a current negative Coggins test and a vet will be available for Health Certificates through the end of the auction.
We are pleased to offer online bidding through PRIME CHOICE AUCTIONS. You can bid on your personal computer or on your phone through the PRIME CHOICE AUCTIONS APP. That can be found in your phones app store. To bid on the app: download the app, choose the Dixie Horse Auction. Click on view auction, then register to bid on any lot! Complete and follow the prompts! Be sure to add your credit card information and accept terms and conditions!
To bid on your computer: go to bid.primechoiceauctions.com and follow the steps listed above! Once you have the winning bid you will receive an email!!! Dixie Horse Auction will contact you by the end of the sale to process your payment! There is a 4% buyers premium for all online purchases! INTERNET BIDDERS PLEASE NOTE! When you register to bid, Prime Choice Auctions will place a $1000 preauthorization on the credit or debit card that you register with. This is NOT a charge, just a preauthorization. Your mobile banking may send a notification that appears as a charge - AGAIN, it is just a preauthorization. The $1000 will show as "pending" and then never complete but rather, will just vanish as if it was never there. Once the sale is complete, this preauthorization is released for all non-winning bidders. Winning bidders will have the preauthorization lifted once final settlement is made with the auction company. If for any reason you as a winning bidder fail to make final payment to the auction company before the open of business on Monday, you understand that Prime Choice Auction will finalize the $1000 preauthorization and remit it to the auction company to be applied to your bill. Further, you understand that Prime Choice Auctions will charge your registered card for the full amount due to the auction company for your winning bids. BID RESPONSIBLY and remember, your bid is a legally binding contract! You are responsible for your winning bids.
